A New Chapter Begins: Story Hollow Finds Its Forever Home in Downtown Madisonville

Last Updated 5/5/2026Posted in Revitalization Efforts, News & Updates

Some stories don’t just get told… they get lived.  Story Hollow is one of those stories.

Just over a year ago, we asked a simple question on social media:
What would you like to see in one of our downtown vacant spaces?

The answer came through loud and clear.
A bookstore.

Not just once, but over and over again. The comments were filled with people dreaming about a cozy place to browse, gather, and fall in love with reading again.

That’s where Stephanie’s story begins.

With a dream on her heart and a sense of calling she couldn’t ignore, Stephanie stepped forward in faith. She took that community desire and turned it into something real, opening Story Hollow in a rented downtown storefront.

It was a leap.
But it was the right one.

Over the past year, Story Hollow has become more than just a bookstore. It’s become a place where stories are shared, connections are made, and downtown feels a little more like home.

And now… the story continues.

In what feels like the perfect next chapter, Story Hollow has officially moved into its very own brick-and-mortar location at 102 College Street.

From a community idea…
To a leap of faith…
To a thriving small business…
To ownership.

That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when a community shows up, when someone is willing to take a chance, and when purpose meets opportunity.

We couldn’t be more proud of Stephanie and everything Story Hollow represents—not just as a business, but as a reminder of what’s possible in downtown Madisonville.

This is exactly why we do what we do.

So if you haven’t stopped by yet, now’s the time. Step inside, find your next favorite book, and be part of a story that’s still being written.

Because in Madisonville, the best chapters are just getting started.
